How to read this
- GitHub counts every download of every release asset, cumulatively. This page samples those counts and reads the differences.
- Launches. The app fetches its platform's update manifest (latest-mac.yml, latest.yml, latest-linux.yml) once per launch, from the newest release. So the manifests count launches.
- Clients at most. Everyone downloaded an installer once (dmg, exe, AppImage), so a platform's installer downloads bound its clients from above. Crawlers and mirrors download installers too, so the bound is loose, most of all for the exe.
- Updater installs. On macOS only the updater fetches the zip (a person takes the dmg). On Windows the updater fetches the exe's differential map first, one per update, so the maps count updater installs and the exe's remaining downloads are people's. An AppImage has no map, so Linux cannot be split.
- A macOS zip count runs a little high: a differential download makes more than one request against the asset.
